Wilson Beach Sunset
Night 2
Our first night of camping! We spent many nights under the stars. The first two were in the Redwood National Forest, at Mill Creek Campground. A camping experience unlike any other I've previously had, there were toilets and hot showers!! An enormous upgrade from the camping I did as a child.
Upon arriving, we assembled our tent and attempted to cook our first campfire dinner. We immediately realized that it was going to take longer than anticipated for our pasta water to boil, so we held off dinner until after dessert on the beach. I bought strawberries and ice cream along the way and we made it just in time to watch the sunset.
Eventually, we came back to finish making our food in the dark (which literally took hours). So that night, half drunk and starving, we decided it was worth buying a portable propane stove for the nights ahead of us. This turned out to be our best investment we made along the whole trip!
After dinner, we went straight off to bed because it was LATE!
I wanted to be well rested for the park's best hike the following morning.
Sleep Tight
